Martin began work at Henry Hyams as a trainee solicitor in 1990, having studied law in Leeds. He was admitted as a solicitor with the firm in February 1993. After gaining experience in all departments he now specialises in criminal defence work, spending a large proportion of his time representing clients in the Youth Court. He also represents clients facing civil cases in the magistrates court, including applications for premises closure orders.

Martin is a member of the Duty Solicitor panel in Leeds and is a Higher Rights Advocate.

In his spare time Martin enjoys visiting the cinema and theatre and also travelling whenever he has the opportunity.
