50 Years in Law!

Congratulations to Lloyd from all at Henry Hyams on reaching the incredible milestone of 50 years in the Law!

Lloyd started his career in February 1975 as an articled clerk in the firm of Henry Hyams & Co which specialised in property, immigration and criminal law out of offices on Park Square.

Noticing a gap in the services provided, Lloyd started to take on clients in the area of family law. Specialising in divorce and children matters, he quickly built up a large following, establishing himself as one of the best known matrimonial lawyers in Leeds with a reputation for taking on the most difficult cases. He was promoted to partner in 1979 and two years later the firm merged with E.J. Bergen & Co – Lloyd’s father’s practice.

Lloyd’s expertise and hard work was recognised in 2015 when he was named Family Lawyer of the Year at the prestigious Yorkshire Legal awards and went on stage to receive the award in front of a huge crowd, including his proud wife Sandra and a delighted Henry Hyams Family Team.

After 41 years as a Partner, and subsequently Director, Lloyd stepped down from management and became a consultant in 2020 continuing his hard work in family law. He always said that he wanted to finish his career after 50 years, and huge thanks are extended to him from all at Henry Hyams for the tireless service he has given. We wish him the very best for the future, as he starts the final wind down into a long deserved, and hopefully very happy, retirement from 10 April 2025.
