Collaborative Law Solicitors

Collaborative Law is becoming more and more common within family law and our collaborative law solicitors are pleased to be able to offer you this service. If you are separating from your partner and seek to resolve the various disputes that arise in the process without recourse to court proceedings, this may be the way forward for you.

We have experienced collaborative law lawyers who are trained in the collaborative law method and are able to offer you a service that assists you to resolve the various issues that arise during the breakdown of a relationship. Our collaborative family law solicitors will explore with you the arrangements that are most beneficial to both parties regarding any children in the relationship, including where they will live, how much time each party should spend with them, maintenance payments and so on.

Our collaborative solicitors aim to resolve all financial issues between you and your former partner including property, personal possessions, savings, investments, business interests and pension.

All of this is achieved by a meeting between the two parties and their lawyers, where an agreement is made to prioritise the needs of any children and to work towards fair and responsible solutions. The process cuts out the need for protracted correspondence and aims to resolve matters in alight with the Cohabitation Rights Bill, through the round table discussion.

If it is appropriate then our collaborative law solicitors will advise you to instruct an expert to assist in reaching a fair settlement. Experts could include accountants, valuers, or independent financial advisors and they can be brought into the process to help resolve issues and assist in the forward planning.

The aim of collaborative law is to make the whole process more client-centred with a view to reaching the settlement that suits your family best and allows everyone to move on with their lives.
