Ryan Wilson

Paralegal

Ryan completed his first degree in English, specialising in Linguistics, and graduated from the University of Southampton in 2010. He completed his PGCE in English at the University of York in 2011, qualifying as a secondary school English teacher. From 2011-2019, Ryan worked as an English teacher, Head of English, and Assistant Headteacher.

Following a desire to re-train in Law, Ryan completed his GDL at Leeds Beckett University in 2020, graduating with a Distinction. He was also awarded the Jones Myers Prize for Outstanding Overall Achievement. Ryan has since completed the Bar Practice Course at the University of Law (Leeds) and has obtained a Crime and Family pupillage at 39 Park Square chambers which will commence in January 2023.

Ryan joined Henry Hyams in February 2020 as a Legal Assistant in the Family department before becoming a Paralegal in April 2021. He works closely with clients to prepare applications and statements for the court, as well as co-working on complex cases in both Public and Private Law matters. He is also an accredited police station representative.

Outside of work, Ryan is a keen reader and writer. He is also a member of the UK Centre for Therapeutic Jurisprudence, and continues to work for two major exam boards, with responsibility for marking and writing GCSE English Language and English Literature exam papers.
